If you do not wish to give property outright (no restrictions) a trust may be for you. Is your estate worth more than five million dollars? You should consider tax planning. Another question you should ask yourself is what is considered in my estate and what is not? What will happen if you are unable to make decisions? Powers of Attorney may be used to give others authority regarding management of your property and also your health care decisions. Do you own a farm or small business? Business succession planning may be needed. Certain problems arise in family controlled or closely held businesses. There may be problems on the horizon that you are unaware of. Workers’ Compensation
Worker’s Compensation is a benefit system for those people who are employees, injured by an accident, arising out of and in the course of employment. Worker’s Compensation provides temporary total disability checks while injured workers are out of work seeing a doctor, or for medical treatments which are reasonable and necessary to heal the injury, or to shorten the period of disability. Workers’ Compensation will then make payments for permanent disability based on impairment rating, impaired wage earning capacity, or permanent total disability. The law in this area is often impacted by new legislation.
