Workers’ Compensation:
Worker’s Compensation is a benefit system for those people who are employees, injured by an accident, arising out of and in the course of employment. Worker’s Compensation provides temporary total disability checks while injured workers are out of work seeing a doctor, or for medical treatments which are reasonable and necessary to heal the injury, or to shorten the period of disability. If you are have a physical or mental impairment and have worked for five of the last ten years you may be eligible for disability benefits. There are four major types of disability benefits administered by SSA: disability insurance benefits, disabled adult child benefits, disabled widow’s and widower’s benefits, and SSI disability benefits.
